NOTE: At the end of the contest we will send out an email asking you if you would like your song in the previous contest to roll over into the next contest period or if you would like to submit a new song.

Eligibility:

The contest is open to anyone anywhere in the world except the employees of Gem Entertainment Group, LLC and its affiliates. If the entrant is under the age of 18, the song must be submitted with parental consent. Winners will be required to furnish a legal affidavit of eligibility and release.

Rules:

• A Registered Member can submit one song for free, no larger than 5 MB. There is a fee for additional songs:
  
  2 songs for $4.99
  4 songs for $7.99
  
  Along with each song you can post a Cover Picture of your choice (album cover or picture of you "the artists"). If not you can choose one of our default pictures.
  
  
• Each song entered can be categorized into only one of the 5 contest genres.
  
  
• At the end of the contest period 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be judged based upon two criteria:
  
  1. The Number of times your song is downloaded
  2. Rankings Given by Other Members
  
  
• All entries must include a signed copy of the entry submission form located at the end of these rules. The entry submission form must be filled out completely and signed by everybody participating in creation of the song, and by a legal guardian if the entrant is under the age of 18.
  
  
• Entries must be original and never before published, created by and fully owned by the individual or group submitting the entry.
  
  
• Collaborative efforts ARE permitted. Collaborative entries will be regarded as a single entry with the award of one contract. The entry must be submitted by an individual with authority to act on behalf of all other participants, and include the signature of all other participants indicating their consent to the submittal and agreement to comply with contest rules.
  
  
• All entries must contain a title: "Untitled" is not acceptable.
  
  
• Songs containing profanity, vulgarity or inappropriate sexual content (in the opinion of Gem Entertainment Group) will be permanently disqualified.
  
  
• By participating, all entries agree to be bound by the official rules and the decisions of the judges. Decisions of the judges are final and not subject to dispute or challenge.
  
  
• Entrants retain ownership of copyright for the songs they submit in the contest. By entering the contest, entrants grant permission to Gem Entertainment Group to publish those entries at the Hip Hop Starz.com website and in any forthcoming media entertainment or promotional piece compiled, published by or submitted for publication by Gem Entertainment Group.LLC, without compensation to the songs' owner. GEM Entertainment Group LLC shall not be responsible for unauthorized copying or use of entries posted on its website.
  
  
• Entries in violation of copyright laws will be disqualified. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit attesting to compliance with copyright regulations.
  
  
• Semifinalist and winners will be announced on the hiphopstarz.com website and via email. Any prize unclaimed within 30 days after notification will be awarded to an alternate winner. No cash alternatives will be awarded. No substitutions for prizes will be permitted.
  
  
• By entering this contest, you agree that Gem Entertainment Group LLC, its affiliates and contest sponsors may display, perform or otherwise use your submission and name (including your screen name and/or performing name) for advertising and promotional purposes without further compensation except where prohibited by law.
  
  
• Gem Entertainment Group reserves the right to modify, restructure or alter the rules relating to this contest without notice.
  
  
• Contest is void where restricted or prohibited by law. Any terms, events or stipulations within the rules of this contest which are prohibited by law are void in those geographic domains where they are so prohibited.
  
  
• Entry into this contest constitutes a release of Gem Entertainment Group, its affiliated corporations, contest sponsors, and all officers, directors, employees, and agents of the same from any and all claims, losses or causes of action of any kind whatsoever in connection with the contest or any prizes awarded.
